PARILLO: FORMULA TO CALCULATE BODY FAT

The Formula Parillo is used to calculate the percentage of body fat and is considered simple because it does not differentiate between sex (men and women) or age and can be used for any type of population. However, due to its simplicity it tends to have a good margin of error and inaccurate results. 9 measurements of skinfolds must be taken to perform this formula.   • Parillo body fat formula for men and women

To calculate the percentage of body fat with the Parillo method, take the skinfolds (in millimeters) previously indicated, with a skinfold caliper and perform the following equation, which applies to both women and men: 

Percentage of body fat (%) (27 x sum of all skinfolds) / body weight (lbs.)
